1979-1989: Participant, sea expeditions onboard the R/V “Professor Zubov”, “Akademik Shuleikin”, “Rudolf Samoilovich”.
1987: Head of the Oceanographic Expedition onboard the R/V “Akademik Shuleikin”.
1998: Head of the Ice Research Expedition in the frame of the “Sakhalin-1” international project.

Research field
Ice regime of the Arctic basin and the Arctic seas. Factors determining the variability of ice conditions, development of methods and technologies for ice forecasts. Morphometry of ice formations in the ice-covered seas. Mechanisms of formation of dangerous ice phenomena and identification of their variability. Organization of ice research expedition work.


Scientific and public activities:
1994-present: research supervisor of Rosgidromet projects “Developing of models, methods and technologies for ice forecasts of different advance time in the Arctic and ice-covered seas”;
2001-2010: research supervisor of research projects (including expeditions) on ice conditions of the North Caspian;
2005-2006: research manager of the project of the Ministry of Education and Science “Development of a prototype of an adaptable complex for monitoring and forecasting the state of the atmosphere and hydrosphere to support marine activities in the Arctic and ice-covered seas”;
2006-present: research supervisor of the Project commissioned by ExxonNeftegazLtd “Ice Tanker Navigation Services in Tatar Strait” in the frame of “Sakhalin-1” project;
2007-2013: Research supervisor of projects; cooperation between the AARI and ExxonMobil;
2007-2012: Research supervisor of projects; cooperation between the AARI and BritishPetroleum;
2011-2012: Research supervisor of projects; "Developing innovative technologies for detecting dangerous ice formations and predicting dangerous and extreme marine phenomena to ensure safe marine activities as a factor in the sustainable development of the Arctic” of Ministry of Education and Science;
